What is Cybersecurity?
Cybersecurity refers to the practice of protecting computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks. It is also known as information technology security or electronic information security. The primary goal of cybersecurity is to ensure three key principles:
- Confidentiality: Protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access.
- Integrity: Ensuring that data remains accurate, consistent, and free from unauthorized modifications.
- Availability: Ensuring that authorized users have uninterrupted access to information and systems when needed.
Cybersecurity covers various domains, including network security, application security, endpoint security, cloud security, and operational security. Each domain addresses unique vulnerabilities and risks, making cybersecurity a broad and multidisciplinary field.
