Role of VPNs and Proxy Servers
Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and proxy servers are tools that enhance privacy and security when accessing the internet:
VPNs:
- Encrypt data transmitted between the user’s device and the internet.
- Hide the user’s IP address, providing anonymity and protection on public Wi-Fi networks.
Examples: NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and Cisco AnyConnect.
Proxy Servers:
- Act as intermediaries between the user and the internet, filtering requests and hiding the user’s identity.
- Can be configured for content filtering and access control in corporate environments.
Both tools are critical for secure and private browsing, especially in environments where data protection is essential.
