Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
The Acceptable Use Policy defines the permissible and prohibited uses of an organization’s IT resources, including hardware, software, networks, and internet access. It provides guidelines for employees to:
- Use organizational resources responsibly and securely.
- Avoid activities such as unauthorized software installation, illegal downloads, or visiting malicious websites.
- Report potential misuse or violations.
The AUP helps prevent misuse, reduce risks of malware infections, and protect the organization’s reputation by ensuring all users adhere to ethical and legal standards.
